About the Winery

Gordon Larum and Michelle Seuis founded Tempting Fate Wines in 2021 on one rule: quality over quantity, always. The name nods to the early Napa Valley pioneers who planted on unproven land and dared to imagine something more, and the label's own voice is bold. Wine, it says, should taste like conviction.

Each vintage the founders hand-select vineyards and varieties across Napa Valley and Sonoma County. The center of the lineup is the Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon, made since 2021; the 2021 and 2022 are 90% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Petit Verdot, and the 2023 is the newest release. There is also a Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir, with a Napa Valley white wine on the way.

Production is intentionally limited, and the wines are available by request only: you contact the winery, and the founders review each request and confirm availability. Tempting Fate has no tasting room and publishes no visiting program, so it does not receive visitors. The day below stays between Oakville and Calistoga at family estates that do host.

Tasting Fees

Tempting Fate Wines does not offer tastings.

The day runs a little past six hours, and extra time can be added by the hour.

10:00 · Long Meadow Ranch Winery

We can arrange a catered picnic at a winery that allows one; the cost is quoted when you book.

2:45 · Museion Winery

About 20 minutes away. A family winery in a former Calistoga water plant, with wines named for the Greek Muses and a custom crush cellar for small producers. The Amuse Me tasting is $65; we allow about an hour. By prepaid reservation for 1 to 6 guests.

3:45 · Back to your hotel

Back in St. Helena by about 4:05 p.m., a little over six hours after pickup.

About $315 per person in tasting fees for the three wineries, paid directly to each winery.

Long Meadow Ranch's Mountain Estate visits run at set times, usually 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Myriad and Museion confirm their times when we book. Three wineries is the right pace for a day of serious tasting.

Every tour is custom. This day is a starting point: your chauffeur will shape it around what matters to you, and we plan multi-day tours for guests who want to see more of wine country.
