About the Winery

Mike Smith started making wine in 1999 under Thomas Brown, working without pay to learn the craft, and founded Myriad Cellars in 2005 as a small project in a garage. He runs it today with his wife, Leah, director of operations. Smith also makes wine for a long list of Napa labels, among them Carter Cellars, Switchback Ridge, Quivet, Scarlett, Tamber Bey and Flora Springs.

Myriad is about Cabernet Sauvignon from some of Napa's most famous vineyards, including Beckstoffer Dr. Crane, To Kalon and Georges III. The winery counts more than 45 perfect 100-point scores for Smith's wines and says the 2021 Myriad Beckstoffer Dr. Crane earned 100 points five times over. Allocations go to the mailing list through standing orders.

There is no Myriad tasting room of its own. Tastings are hosted by appointment at the Brasswood estate on Highway 29 north of St. Helena, in the St. Helena AVA: about 90 minutes and four to six wines, with priority for mailing list members. We send the request for you, so you get a seated look at wines that rarely leave the list.

Tasting Fees

$125 per person, waived with purchase. About 90 minutes, usually four to six wines depending on availability.

Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
