About the Winery

Surcos is the Gallegos family's winery, made by three generations in Napa. Enrique Gallegos Senior came to Napa Valley through the Bracero Program and worked for wineries including Beringer. His grandson Luies Gallegos grew up fascinated by winemaking, learned the craft for years, and made the first Surcos vintage in 2019. Surcos means "vineyard rows" in Spanish. In 2021 Luies founded LELI, Latinos en la Industria.

The wines come from cool sites: rosé, Pinot Noir and Tempranillo from the Napa side of Los Carneros, Cabernet from the Oak Knoll District near San Pablo Bay, and Sauvignon Blanc from Lake County. The family also planted its own vineyard, first harvested in 2020, taking Surcos from growing the grapes to bottling the wine.

Surcos has no tasting room and does not receive visitors at a winery. Instead the family brings the wine to you: they offer a tasting of the full lineup by inquiry through their contact page. The wine is sold online and through the wine club, which gets first access and discounts.

Tasting Fees

Surcos does not offer tastings at a winery.

Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.

A Suggested Six-Hour Day

Pickup at 10:00 a.m. from a nearby hotel such as Carneros Resort and Spa or Stanly Ranch.

10:00 · Pickup at Carneros Resort and Spa or Stanly Ranch

Both Carneros hotels are within about 10 minutes of the first stop. The day below fits a six-hour tour, and extra time can be added by the hour.

10:15 · Hyde Vineyards Estate

Since Surcos does not host visitors, this day takes you to three sought-after estates nearby that do. Larry Hyde's Carneros vineyard, planted in 1979 and long a source for other wineries, where you can taste on a small terrace looking over the vines. The estate tasting is $75 for about 75 minutes. By reservation; open daily 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., up to six guests.

11:50 · Mount George Winery

About 20 minutes away. A small family winery at the base of Mt. George, built by hand by its owners, who host every visit themselves on the terrace, in the winery and in the caves. The hosted experience is $80; visits run up to two hours, and we plan 90 minutes. By appointment only.

1:35 · Lunch at Grace's Table

About 12 minutes away. Lunch at Grace's Table on Second Street in downtown Napa, a sit-down local favorite open daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Prefer a picnic? We can arrange a catered picnic at a winery that allows one; the cost is quoted when you book.

2:50 · Domaine Carneros

About 15 minutes away. A French-style château on a Carneros hilltop and one of the best-known sparkling wine houses in the valley, with a terrace that looks out over the rolling vineyards. The Daily Tasting Experience, a flight of four sparkling wines, starts at $45 for about an hour. By appointment daily from 10 a.m.; everyone must be 21 or older.

3:55 · Back to your hotel

Back by about 4:05 p.m., six hours after pickup.

About $200 per person in tasting fees for the three wineries, paid directly to each winery.

We leave off an optional fourth stop; Mount George visits run up to two hours, and three wineries is the right pace.

Every tour is custom. This day is a starting point: your chauffeur will shape it around what matters to you, and we plan multi-day tours for guests who want to see more of wine country.
