About the Winery

Anne and George Ulitin met in college and came to Napa Valley, where they raised two sons. Anne arrived in America as a child aboard the Queen Mary; George was born in a refugee camp after World War II and grew up in Venezuela. In 1974 they bought an old farmhouse with acreage and planted their first vineyard, later adding a 15-acre vineyard.

George built the winery himself, the way the couple designed it, and today it has new tanks, mountain caves and a tasting room warmed by a fireplace. It sits at the base of Mt. George in the Vaca Range east of the city of Napa, in the Napa Valley AVA. There are two lines: a broad Napa Valley collection and the Pewter Collection of single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon.

This is not a tasting bar. Anne and George host each visit themselves, moving with you between the terrace, the winery and the caves, with music paired to the wines and no rush. Visits last up to two hours. It is the kind of stop guests talk about at dinner, because they met the people who made the place.

Tasting Fees

$80 per person for the hosted experience with the Mount George Winery Collection, up to two hours. $125 to add the Pewter Collection Cabernets in the cave, depending on availability.

Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
