Stormy Weather is the label of Canadian-born winemaker Cameron Woodbridge, who learned the craft through harvests in the Barossa Valley, Argentina and Napa Valley, starting in 2004 alongside his brother Jayson Woodbridge of Hundred Acre. The first Stormy Weather vintage, 2006, came from seven tons of grapes bought from Jericho Canyon in Calistoga, according to The Napa Wine Project.
There are three wines: Stormy Weather and Northern Gale Cabernet Sauvignon and Wandering Star Cabernet Franc, each 100 percent varietal and typically aged around 30 months in French oak. Critics have scored them well: Jeb Dunnuck gave the 2015 Stormy Weather Cabernet 97 points, and Lisa Perrotti-Brown gave the 2019 95. Each label reproduces a painting by Canadian artist David Blackwood.
Production is under 1,500 cases a year across the labels. The wine is sold through the winery's online shop and mailing list, and it is also distributed in parts of Canada and Europe. The winery's St. Helena address on Oak Avenue is listed as not open to the public, so Stormy Weather does not receive visitors. The day below visits three estates nearby that do host.
Stormy Weather does not offer tastings.
Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.

Since Stormy Weather does not host visitors, this day takes you to three sought-after estates nearby that do. Both St. Helena hotels are about 20 minutes from Conn Valley. The day runs about six and three-quarter hours, and extra time is added by the hour.
About 20 minutes away. A family-owned estate in quiet Conn Valley where the founder still makes the wine, with the Signature Tasting poured in the winery's cave. $135, 1.5 to 2 hours, with an optional charcuterie board. By appointment, Monday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
About 20 minutes away. Lunch at Market, an American restaurant in a historic brick and stone building on Main Street in St. Helena, open for lunch Monday to Saturday from noon. Prefer a picnic? We can arrange a catered picnic at a winery that allows one; the cost is quoted when you book.
About 12 minutes away. Rutherford Cabernet poured in the estate gardens or the historic barn where the winery opened in 1979, beneath a grove of sequoia trees. The Single Vineyard Experience is $75 ($100 with paired bites), and tastings last about 90 minutes. Reservations required; closed Tuesdays.
About 15 minutes away. A contemporary estate lounge set among the vines, with the Stags Leap Palisades as the backdrop, beside a LEED Gold certified winery. The Odette Experience is $100 with Estate and Reserve Cabernet and a cheese plate; we plan about an hour. Open daily 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. by reservation; only guests 21 and over taste.
Back by about 4:45 p.m.
About $310 per person in tasting fees for the three wineries, paid directly to each winery.
Anderson's Conn Valley hosts Monday to Saturday, Market serves lunch Monday to Saturday and Sequoia Grove is closed Tuesdays; on those days we swap in another estate or restaurant.
