Winemaker Tony Biagi's own small label, built on mountain Cabernet from Oakville Ranch. Patria does not receive visitors; here is what to know, and a day at sought-after estates nearby that do host.

Tony Biagi caught the winemaking bug as a harvest intern in the early 1990s, and by the end of his first day on the crushpad knew he wanted his own winery one day. Interning at the Hess Collection, he met vineyard expert Alan Price, and later, on Dan Duckhorn's team at Duckhorn Vineyards, he first worked with fruit from Oakville Ranch. In spring 2013 he founded Patria with partner Kimberly Jones.
Patria's Cabernet starts at Oakville Ranch, at about 1,400 feet in the eastern hills of Oakville, where volcanic andesite soils are farmed organically; Biagi works seven blocks of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The A. Price Vineyard, two acres of heritage clone 7 Cabernet planted in 1991 on a Spring Mountain alluvial fan in St. Helena, is the other source. There is also a Charlie Smith Chardonnay from Moon Mountain in Sonoma County.
The wines are offered by allocation to the mailing list, with releases in fall, at the holidays and in spring. There is no tasting room, and Patria does not receive visitors. The day below starts at Oakville Ranch itself, which does host, then visits two more family estates nearby.
Patria does not offer tastings.
Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.

Since Patria does not host visitors, this day takes you to three sought-after estates nearby that do, starting at Oakville Ranch, where Patria's Cabernet is grown. Rancho Caymus Inn in Rutherford and Bardessono in Yountville are each about 20 minutes from the ranch. The day runs about six and a half hours, and extra time is added by the hour.
About 20 minutes away. The mountain ranch in the eastern hills above Oakville where Patria's Cabernet is grown. The visit is an ATV ride through the vineyards to a valley overlook and an alfresco tasting of current releases by the pool. $100, about 1.5 hours; wear closed shoes. By prior appointment, Monday to Friday.
About 20 minutes away. Lunch at Mustards Grill on Highway 29 just north of Yountville, a Napa Valley favorite for more than 40 years, open daily for lunch. Prefer a picnic? We can arrange a catered picnic at a winery that allows one; the cost is quoted when you book.
About 8 minutes away. Ren and Marilyn Harris's 55-acre family estate in west Oakville, which makes wine only from its own fruit; Heidi Barrett was the founding winemaker. A private visit and tasting by appointment; we plan about an hour, and the format and any fee are confirmed by the winery.
About 10 minutes away. Rutherford Cabernet poured in the estate gardens or the historic barn where the winery opened in 1979, beneath a grove of sequoia trees. The Single Vineyard Experience is $75 ($100 with paired bites), and tastings last about 90 minutes. Reservations required; closed Tuesdays.
Back at your hotel by about 4:30 p.m.
About $175 per person in tasting fees for Oakville Ranch and Sequoia Grove, plus Paradigm's fee, which is confirmed with the reservation; each paid directly to the winery.
Oakville Ranch hosts Monday to Friday and Sequoia Grove is closed Tuesday, so this day suits Monday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday. It runs about six and a half hours.
