Napa Native is the wine of Tyler Jackson, who grew up among the vines on a property his family has owned for more than 60 years (since 1963, the winery says). His grandfather used the land as pasture, and the family planted the vineyard about 28 years ago. Tyler trained in enology at Napa Valley College and made his first vintage, a small-batch Cabernet from the family vineyard, in 2013 with guidance from David Yorgensen of Kind Cellars.
The estate has 5 acres of vineyard in the Oak Knoll District, just outside Yountville, with 3.5 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon. Tyler works with minimal intervention and sorts the fruit by hand. Each year brings about 150 cases of the estate Cabernet and 75 cases of a proprietary red blend, plus small lots of rosé, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and sparkling wine. The current release is the 2022 Estate Cabernet.
The family says the wine is available only directly from them, through the Napa Native website or at tastings they host themselves. There is no public tasting room at the homestead, so the estate does not receive visitors. The day below stays in the Yountville and Oak Knoll area near the Jackson vineyard, with three estates that do host and lunch at a Highway 29 classic.
Napa Native does not offer public tastings at the estate.
Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.

Since Napa Native does not host visitors, this day takes you to three sought-after estates nearby that do. North Block Hotel, a boutique hotel in Yountville, and Hotel Villagio, a resort hotel in Yountville, are each about 5 minutes from the first stop. The day runs about six hours, and extra time can be added by the hour.
About 5 minutes away. Russell Bevan's bold Oakville Cabernet and coastal Pinot Noir, poured at HQ Winery, a working winery on Hoffman Lane just south of Yountville. Tastings are $75 to $200 depending on the experience; we plan about 75 minutes. By appointment, daily 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
About 15 minutes away. Second-generation Napa winemaker Chris Corley and winegrower Julianna Corley pour current and library wines with light bites in the middle of a working vineyard, the vines close enough to touch. The Private Tasting is $75; we allow about 90 minutes. By reservation only, with very limited seatings; the vineyard location is confirmed with the booking.
About 15 minutes away. Lunch at Mustards Grill on Highway 29 just north of Yountville, a Napa Valley favorite for more than 40 years, open daily for lunch. Prefer a picnic? We can arrange a catered picnic at a winery that allows one; the cost is quoted when you book.
About 15 minutes away. An Oak Knoll District estate on Big Ranch Road with a seated Estate Tasting of five wines from $45, and an ATV Vineyard Education Tour through the vines ($140, about 90 minutes) at 11 a.m., 1 and 3 p.m. Open daily 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; reservations required on Tock.
Back by about 4:05 p.m., about six hours after pickup.
About $195 to $320 per person in tasting fees for the three wineries, paid directly to each winery.
Chris Corley's seatings are very limited, and the vineyard location is confirmed with the booking. Three wineries is the right pace for a day of serious tasting.
