About the Winery

Juslyn Vineyards is owned by Perry and Carolyn Butler, British expatriates who came to California in the 1980s as high-tech pioneers and founded a company in the Bay Area. Weekend trips to Napa Valley turned into a plan to grow grapes, and in 1997 they sold their computer business and founded Juslyn on a site overlooking Spring Mountain Vineyard, high above St. Helena.

They replanted the rocky hillside estate to a field blend of about 90% Cabernet Sauvignon with small amounts of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, and made 170 cases in 2001. Today there are two main wines, the Spring Mountain Estate Cabernet Sauvignon ($250 for the 2019) and Perry's Blend, a more elegant, Right Bank-style blend ($150), plus a Member's Blend kept for the club and mailing list. Recent vintages list Perry Butler as vineyard manager, with winemakers including Angelina Mondavi (2017) and Brian Kosi (2018).

Juslyn sells through its allocation list and website. It does not offer tastings, and the Spring Mountain District's 2025 map lists it as having no tasting available, though the website invites calls about a vineyard tour. The day below stays on Spring Mountain, starting next door at Spring Mountain Vineyard.

Tasting Fees

Juslyn does not offer tastings. On the day below, expect about $210 per person: $95 at Spring Mountain Vineyard, $50 at Keenan and $65 at Schweiger.

Tasting fees as of October 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
