About the Winery

Goosecross dates to the 1970s, when the first vines went in on State Lane in Yountville. Christi Coors Ficeli helped her family acquire the property in 2013, and in 2021 she and her husband, Dave Ficeli, bought Goosecross themselves. They kept the name, and the family runs the winery today, calling it a New Napa take on Old Napa.

The name comes from a family legend: a migrating goose hurt his wing over the property, his mate dropped out of the flock to stay with him, and the pair settled on State Lane. The estate vineyard, which the winery calls Yountville East, lies on old river beds of rock, gravel and sand in the Yountville AVA. Winemaker Bill Nancarrow, formerly of Duckhorn, joined in 2013.

All tastings are by appointment and poured on the patio when the weather allows, looking over the estate vines to the Mayacamas Mountains. The Signature Wine Tasting covers the range, and the State Lane Estate Tasting focuses on four red micro lots from the estate vineyard. On Sunday through Thursday mornings, the Matinee tasting is priced lower.

Tasting Fees

$30 for the Matinee Signature Wine Tasting (Sunday to Thursday before noon). $50 for the Signature Wine Tasting and $65 for the State Lane Estate Tasting of four estate reds.

Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
