Calistoga · Napa Valley
Small-batch Napa Valley wines with original artwork on every label, from a gallerist and a winemaker. Glass Canvas does not receive visitors; here is what to know, and a day at sought-after estates nearby that do host.

Glass Canvas Wines pairs a gallerist with a winemaker. Robert Casterline has worked in modern and contemporary art since 1993, with galleries in Aspen and Chicago, and the brand credits him as the strategist behind the sale of the world's largest Peanuts comic strip collection. Winemaker Marcela Hernandez runs Museion Wines and treats winemaking as an art form.
The brand describes itself as the place where rare, small-batch vintages meet contemporary art. The wines come from select Napa Valley plots, made with a minimal-intervention approach, and every bottle carries original artwork that the brand says is never repeated. A Winemakers Program and an artists roster on its website show the collaborations behind the labels.
Glass Canvas lists a Calistoga address on Lincoln Avenue, but it posts no tasting hours, fees or bookings, and it describes its events as private winery installations and member-only exhibitions. Wines are sold through the shop on its website. Since Glass Canvas does not host public visits, the day below takes you to three sought-after estates nearby that do.
Glass Canvas does not offer tastings.
Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.

Since Glass Canvas does not host visitors, this day takes you to three sought-after estates nearby that do. Indian Springs, the historic hot springs resort on Lincoln Avenue, is about 5 minutes from the first stop, and Four Seasons Napa Valley on the Silverado Trail about 8 minutes. The day runs about seven hours, and extra time can be added by the hour.
About 5 minutes away. Danica Patrick's organic hillside Cabernet estate pours in a seated tasting lounge on Lincoln Avenue, with wines made by Julien Fayard. Taste of Somnium is $80, four current releases in about 75 minutes, waived with a three-bottle purchase. By appointment at 10 a.m., 12:30 or 3 p.m.
About 10 minutes away. An estate winery and small inn on Highway 128, where private tastings are often on the terrace looking west to the Mayacamas, with wines made by Angelina Mondavi. The private tasting is $75, waived with three bottles per person. By advance appointment only.
About 10 minutes away. Lunch at Sam's Social Club at Indian Springs in Calistoga, a sit-down restaurant named for town founder Samuel Brannan, serving lunch Monday through Friday and brunch on weekends. Prefer a picnic? We can arrange a catered picnic at a winery that allows one; the cost is quoted when you book.
About 15 minutes away. Up Highway 128 to a hillside ranch about 1,000 feet above the valley, the northernmost parcel in Napa County, where an owner leads you through the property, the winery and a cave with hand-carved wooden doors. The Current Release Tasting with cheese and charcuterie is $100, 1.5 to 2 hours. By appointment, Monday to Saturday at 10:30 a.m. or 2:30 p.m.
Back by about 4:45 p.m., about seven hours after pickup.
About $255 per person in tasting fees for the three wineries, paid directly to each winery.
Tom Eddy hosts Monday to Saturday, and Sam's Social Club serves lunch on weekdays and brunch on weekends, so plan for any day but Sunday. Back by about 4:45 p.m.
