Edict is a small Napa Valley label built on three words, truth, generosity and love, which it says guide its winemaking decisions. The aim, in its words, is small production, hand-crafted wines that stay true to the grape and its sense of place. It lists a winery suite on Enterprise Court in the city of Napa, and it shares a phone line and online shop with Erikson & Caradin.
Fruit comes from growers from Calistoga to Los Carneros, overseen by a vineyard manager with more than thirty years of experience. The current list centers on Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, including a Reserve and a single-vineyard Collinetta bottling from Oakville, plus a Proprietary Red and a Napa Valley Chardonnay. Pinot Noir comes from the Russian River Valley, Sonoma County and the Sonoma Coast.
Edict sells its wines online, with the 2023 Cabernets listed at $100 to $120. It publishes no tasting room or visiting program, so it does not receive visitors. The day below starts in south Napa and works up to the Stags Leap District and the caves of Soda Canyon, at three family wineries that do host.
Edict does not offer tastings.
Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.

Pickup at 10:00 a.m. from a nearby hotel such as Andaz Napa or Archer Hotel Napa.
Since Edict does not host visitors, this day takes you to three sought-after estates nearby that do. Andaz Napa, a boutique Hyatt hotel, and Archer Hotel Napa, with its rooftop bar, are both in downtown Napa, about 10 minutes from the first stop. The day runs about six and a quarter hours, and extra time can be added by the hour.
About 10 minutes away. Rolando and Lorena Herrera's family winery in south Napa, where a behind-the-scenes tour of the working cellar ends with a seated tasting in the barrel room. The Winery Tour & Tasting is $65, five wines with chocolate truffles; we plan about 75 minutes. By appointment, Monday to Saturday.
About 20 minutes away. Race car driver Randy Lewis's Cabernet house, now pouring at a new estate on the Silverado Trail in the Stags Leap District, with pairings from a Michelin-starred chef. The Legacy Tasting is $80; we plan about an hour. Open daily 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; reservations highly recommended, up to six guests per seating.
About 8 minutes away. Lunch at Mustards Grill on Highway 29 just north of Yountville, a Napa Valley favorite for more than 40 years, open daily for lunch. Prefer a picnic? We can arrange a catered picnic at a winery that allows one; the cost is quoted when you book.
About 20 minutes away. A small co-fermented Napa label poured in The Caves at Soda Canyon, an underground winery with a terrace looking down the valley. The cave tour and tasting of four wines plus a barrel sample is $50, about 90 minutes. By appointment, with seatings daily at 10 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.
Back by about 4:15 p.m., about six and a quarter hours after pickup.
About $195 per person in tasting fees for the three wineries, paid directly to each winery.
Mi Sueño hosts Monday to Saturday, and Greater Fool seats its last tasting at 2:30 p.m., so plan this day for Monday to Saturday and keep lunch on time. The day runs a little past six hours; extra time is billed by the hour. Three wineries is the right pace for a day of serious tasting.
