About the Winery

The Antinori family of Florence has made wine since 1385, when Giovanni di Piero Antinori joined the Florentine winemakers' guild. Marchese Piero Antinori, the 25th generation, first visited Napa Valley in the 1960s, and in 1993 the family invested in a remote, high-elevation property on Atlas Peak. He has since passed stewardship of the company to his daughters Albiera, Allegra and Alessia.

The estate sits in a hidden valley in the Vaca Mountains, in the southeast corner of Napa Valley and inside the Atlas Peak AVA, about 1,600 feet above the valley floor. Piero Antinori has said the rugged terrain reminded him of home in Chianti Classico. Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc grow on steep slopes of weathered volcanic rock above the fog line, and Chardonnay grows on the lower benchlands.

Visits are private and seated. The Estate Experience includes a walk through the historic caves, an overview of the family's history and a curated tasting of four limited-production wines with light bites. It runs 90 minutes, Tuesday through Saturday at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., for parties of up to 10. Plan on a long, winding drive up Soda Canyon Road to reach the estate.

Tasting Fees

$125 for the Estate Experience, a 90-minute private seated tasting of four wines with light bites and a visit to the caves.

Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
