The Lodge at Bodega Bay is an 83-room hotel on the bluffs at the south end of Bodega Bay, part of Woodside Hotels. Rooms and suites look out over the bay and ocean, and most have fireplaces and private patios or balconies. The largest, the Captain's Quarters, is 1,200 square feet.
There is a full-service spa, a heated pool, an infinity-edge hot tub and a sauna. Drakes Sonoma Coast serves breakfast, weekend brunch and dinner, with Drakes Fireside Lounge and in-room dining, and wine receptions are complimentary Thursday through Saturday. No pets other than service animals.
It is also an easy place to start a wine tour. Black Kite Cellars, Freeman Vineyard & Winery and Emeritus Vineyards are all within about 35 minutes. We are based in Calistoga, in neighboring Napa Valley.
Sonoma County Airport (STS): about 26 miles, 50 minutes. The closest airport to The Lodge at Bodega Bay, and the easiest arrival: a small airport in Santa Rosa with no Bay Area traffic on the drive. Direct flights come in from Los Angeles, San Diego, Seattle, Portland, Phoenix, Denver, Dallas and more.
Oakland (OAK): about 78 miles, 1 hour 45 minutes. Often a quieter airport than SFO.
San Francisco International (SFO): about 78 miles, 1 hour 50 minutes, and longer at busy times. The most flights, with a drive across the Bay Area.
Sacramento (SMF): about 110 miles, around 2 hours. Skips Bay Area traffic entirely, though it is the longest drive of the four.
Flying private? We also meet guests at the FBOs at STS and Napa County Airport (APC). See our Sonoma County Airport car service page for more on flying into STS.
