About the Property
Spanish Villa Inn is a small, Mediterranean-style country inn on Glass Mountain Road, in the quiet hills just off the Silverado Trail between St. Helena and Calistoga. It is a small inn with a handful of rooms rather than a full-service hotel.
Rooms are decorated in a Tuscan and Mediterranean style, with king beds and hand-painted ceramic sinks, and guests share a rose garden, bocce courts, a fireplace room and a library. Wi-Fi and parking are free, the inn is non-smoking, and pets are not allowed.
It is also an easy place to start a wine tour. Melka Estates, Titus Vineyards and Charles Krug are all within about 5 minutes, and downtown St. Helena is about 5 minutes away. We are based in Calistoga, about 15 minutes north.
Getting Here From the Airport
Sonoma County Airport (STS): about 27 miles, 50 minutes. The closest airport to Spanish Villa Inn, and the easiest arrival: a small airport in Santa Rosa with no Bay Area traffic on the drive. Direct flights come in from Los Angeles, San Diego, Seattle, Portland, Phoenix, Denver, Dallas and more.
Oakland (OAK): about 72 miles, 1 hour 40 minutes. Often a quieter airport than SFO.
San Francisco International (SFO): about 80 miles, 1 hour 55 minutes, and longer at busy times. The most flights, with a drive across the Bay Area.
Sacramento (SMF): about 85 miles, 1 hour 55 minutes. Skips Bay Area traffic entirely, though it is the longest drive of the four.
