Solage is an Auberge Collection resort on the Silverado Trail at the north end of Napa Valley, a short bike ride from the shops and restaurants of downtown Calistoga. Its 100 rooms, 85 studios and 15 suites, are set as bungalow-style cottages among the gardens, with house bikes included for guests.
Calistoga has drawn visitors to its hot springs for more than a century, and Spa Solage carries that on: a 20,000-square-foot spa built around Calistoga mud and a bathhouse circuit of geothermal pools. Solbar, the resort's restaurant, serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Michelin Guide awards Solage two Michelin Keys.
It is also one of the best places in the valley to start a wine tour. Clos Pegase, Sterling Vineyards and Chateau Montelena are all about five minutes away, and Diamond Mountain and St. Helena are an easy drive south. We are based in Calistoga ourselves, a few minutes from the resort.
Sonoma County Airport (STS): about 20 miles, 40 minutes. The closest airport to Solage and the easiest arrival: a short drive over the hills from Santa Rosa, with no Bay Area traffic. Direct flights come in from Los Angeles, San Diego, Seattle, Portland, Phoenix, Denver, Dallas and more.
San Francisco International (SFO): about 86 miles, 1 hour 45 minutes, and 2 hours or more at busy times. The most flights, with the longest drive, across the Bay Area and up through Napa Valley.
Oakland (OAK): about 78 miles, 1 hour 40 minutes. Often a quieter airport than SFO, and a slightly shorter drive.
Sacramento (SMF): about 91 miles, around 2 hours. Skips Bay Area traffic entirely, though it is the longest drive of the four.
Flying private? We also meet guests at the FBOs at STS and Napa County Airport (APC). See our Sonoma County Airport car service page for more on flying into STS.
