Pearlessence Vineyard Inn is a small bed and breakfast on Greg and Linda Pearl's five-acre farm on Hessel Road, between Sebastopol and Santa Rosa. The Pearls moved to Sebastopol in 1991 and planted their Pinot Noir by hand the next year; Failla makes a Pinot Noir from the fruit.
The inn currently offers one suite, the Ginkgo Room, overlooking the gardens, pond and vineyard, with a king bed, gas fireplace, heated slate floors, a rainfall shower and a private deck. Stays have a two-night minimum, and smoking is not permitted inside.
It is also an easy place to start a wine tour. Merry Edwards is about 5 minutes away, and the wineries of Sebastopol and the Green Valley are within about 20. We are based in Calistoga, in neighboring Napa Valley.
Sonoma County Airport (STS): about 17 miles, 30 minutes. The closest airport to Pearlessence Vineyard Inn, and the easiest arrival: a small airport in Santa Rosa with no Bay Area traffic on the drive. Direct flights come in from Los Angeles, San Diego, Seattle, Portland, Phoenix, Denver, Dallas and more.
Oakland (OAK): about 64 miles, 1 hour 30 minutes. Often a quieter airport than SFO.
San Francisco International (SFO): about 65 miles, 1 hour 40 minutes, and longer at busy times. The most flights, with a drive across the Bay Area.
Sacramento (SMF): about 94 miles, 2 hours 20 minutes. Skips Bay Area traffic entirely, though it is the longest drive of the four.
Flying private? We also meet guests at the FBOs at STS and Napa County Airport (APC). See our Sonoma County Airport car service page for more on flying into STS.
