About the Property
The Inn on the Russian River is a boutique riverside inn in Monte Rio, among the redwoods of west Sonoma County. It sits on the old Rio Villa Beach Resort property, with gardens running down to the water.
Guests have private river access and a dock, a large patio with barbecues, and a big fire pit for s'mores. Rooms range from king rooms and spa suites to family units with kitchenettes, and the Monte Rio public beach is a short walk through a meadow.
It is also an easy place to start a wine tour. Korbel Champagne Cellars, Gary Farrell Winery and Russian River Vineyards are all within about 20 minutes. We are based in Calistoga, in neighboring Napa Valley.
Getting Here From the Airport
Sonoma County Airport (STS): about 19 miles, 40 minutes. The closest airport to Inn on the Russian River, and the easiest arrival: a small airport in Santa Rosa with no Bay Area traffic on the drive. Direct flights come in from Los Angeles, San Diego, Seattle, Portland, Phoenix, Denver, Dallas and more.
Oakland (OAK): about 86 miles, 2 hours 10 minutes. Often a quieter airport than SFO.
San Francisco International (SFO): about 86 miles, 2 hours 20 minutes, and longer at busy times. The most flights, with a drive across the Bay Area.

About 5 minutes away. Small-lot Russian River Valley Pinot Noir from one of California's first gravity-flow wineries. The Classic Wine Tasting is $40, waived with two bottles per person. Walk-ins welcome when there is room.
