AutoCamp Sonoma is a glamping resort in a redwood grove near Guerneville, along the Russian River. It opened in 2016 as AutoCamp Russian River, and guests stay in 31-foot Airstream suites with their own bathroom and kitchenette, accessible cabins, canvas Adventure Tents or a Happier Camper.
Check-in is at the Clubhouse, which has a fire pit and is staffed from 7:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. A General Store sells snacks and drinks, and Wi-Fi, parking and EV charging are free. Up to two dogs are welcome for a fee.
It is also an easy place to start a wine tour. Korbel Champagne Cellars, Gary Farrell Vineyards & Winery and Hartford Family Winery are all within about 25 minutes. We are based in Calistoga, in neighboring Napa Valley.
Sonoma County Airport (STS): about 16 miles, 35 minutes. The closest airport to AutoCamp Sonoma, and the easiest arrival: a small airport in Santa Rosa with no Bay Area traffic on the drive. Direct flights come in from Los Angeles, San Diego, Seattle, Portland, Phoenix, Denver, Dallas and more.
Oakland (OAK): about 83 miles, 1 hour 55 minutes. Often a quieter airport than SFO.
San Francisco International (SFO): about 83 miles, 2 hours, and longer at busy times. The most flights, with a drive across the Bay Area.
Sacramento (SMF): about 112 miles, around 2 hours. Skips Bay Area traffic entirely, though it is the longest drive of the four.
Flying private? We also meet guests at the FBOs at STS and Napa County Airport (APC). See our Sonoma County Airport car service page for more on flying into STS.
