About the Property
Alila Napa Valley, formerly Las Alcobas, sits at the north end of Main Street in St. Helena, looking out over Beringer's estate vineyards. Hyatt relaunched it as an Alila hotel in 2021. Some rooms have private patios with fire pits and outdoor soaking tubs, and a bridge over York Creek connects the hotel with Beringer.
Spa Alila has a steam room and meditation spaces, and the heated pool faces the Mayacamas Mountains. Violetto serves Italian cooking, and Salvia has a terrace and bar. Forbes Travel Guide rates the hotel Four-Star.
It is also an easy place to start a wine tour. Charles Krug Winery, Merryvale Vineyards and Markham Vineyards are all within about 5 minutes, and Calistoga is about 15 minutes north. We are based in Calistoga, a short drive up the valley.
Getting Here From the Airport
Sonoma County Airport (STS): about 26 miles, 50 minutes. The closest airport to Alila Napa Valley and the easiest arrival: a short drive over the hills from Santa Rosa, with no Bay Area traffic. Direct flights come in from Los Angeles, San Diego, Seattle, Portland, Phoenix, Denver, Dallas and more.
San Francisco International (SFO): about 77 miles, 1 hour 40 minutes, and 2 hours or more at busy times. The most flights, with the longest drive, across the Bay Area and up through Napa Valley.
Oakland (OAK): about 70 miles, 1 hour 30 minutes. Often a quieter airport than SFO, and a slightly shorter drive.
Sacramento (SMF): about 83 miles, about 1 hour 45 minutes. Skips Bay Area traffic entirely, though it is the longest drive of the four.
