About the Winery

StarWine Cellars is run by Melissa Redwood and her father, a family that set out to grow high quality grapes in Sonoma County. Their vineyards are in the Petaluma Gap near Lakeville Highway, about 250 feet above sea level, where a strong afternoon wind off the Petaluma River keeps the berries small and concentrated. The family says it has been farming and improving the site for about ten years.

The focus is Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from estate fruit. The 2021 Pinot Noir was the first harvest released under the StarWine Cellars label, and the signature line is called Curious. Wines are sold through the winery's website and wine club.

In August 2023 the Sonoma Planning Commission approved a small StarWine tasting room at 11 East Napa Street on the Sonoma Plaza, but we could not confirm that it opened, and the website lists no tasting room or hours. The day below stays in the Petaluma Gap, starting at an estate on the same stretch of Lakeville Highway and ending in downtown Petaluma.

Tasting Fees

StarWine has no confirmed tastings. On the day below, fees run $50 at Keller Estate, $35 at Brooks Note and $40 at Adobe Road, paid to each winery.

Tasting fees as of October 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
