Brooks Note Winery

About the Winery

Garry and Joanne Brooks planted a small vineyard in Sonoma in 2002 while both worked in technology. Garry started as a lab intern at Ravenswood in 2004, earned a degree in viticulture and enology from UC Davis, and worked at Ravenswood, Acacia, Kosta Browne and Dutton-Goldfield. In 2011 the couple started their own label, Brooks Note.

At Kosta Browne, Garry was part of the team that made the 2009 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir, Wine Spectator's Wine of the Year in 2011. Brooks Note is a small family winery making balanced, elegant wines from vineyards in the Russian River Valley, Carneros, the Sonoma Coast and Marin, with Pinot Noir at the center.

The tasting room is on Petaluma Boulevard in the historic downtown. The Current Releases Tasting pairs five wines with cheese, and the Pinot Flight lines up five Pinot Noirs side by side. After the last tasting the room pours wine by the glass and bottle into the early evening.

Tasting Fees

$35 for the Current Releases Tasting, a flight of five wines with cheese. $50 for the Pinot Flight of five Pinot Noirs, with a $10 per person deposit.

Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
