Red Stitch is the wine of three families, the Aurilias, Miceks and Roberts, who became friends through a blind tasting group and from 2007 shared tastings at home and in restaurants. After the 2008 baseball season ended for Rich Aurilia and Dave Roberts, they began laying the groundwork for their own label. Rich, Amy, Dave, Tricia, John and Noelle stay closely involved in the winemaking.
A partnership with Rolando Herrera of Mi Sueño Winery, covering the 2007 through 2023 vintages, gave Red Stitch grapes from Napa Valley vineyards. Since 2011 it has also made two vineyard-designate Pinot Noirs and a Chardonnay from the Soberanes, Rosella's and Sierra Mar vineyards in the Santa Lucia Highlands. In 2024 Erich Bradley became the winemaker; he moved to Sonoma in 1998, has made wine professionally since 1999 and founded Sojourn Cellars and Repris Wines.
Red Stitch sells current releases, autographed limited editions, library wines and large formats online and through its wine club. It has no tasting room but offers private tastings on select dates by inquiry, and its business address is in Healdsburg, so the day below goes to three Healdsburg wineries as well.
Red Stitch has no regular tastings or published fees; private tastings are offered on select dates by inquiry.
On the day below, Pearce Family Wines confirms its fee when we book, LIOCO's tastings run $40 to $60 and VML's Celestial Tasting is $25.
Tasting fees as of October 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.

Alongside a private tasting at Red Stitch, which we request by inquiry on its select dates, this day takes you to three sought-after estates nearby. Both hotels are in downtown Healdsburg, about 10 minutes from the first stop. The day runs about six hours, and extra time can be added by the hour.
About 10 minutes away. A home winery near Healdsburg with a guided walk through the barrel room and a stone patio over the vineyard. Each appointment is a 90-minute tasting with the barrel room tour; the fee is confirmed when we book. Daily by appointment.
About 10 minutes away. Lunch at Bravas, Mark and Terri Stark's tapas restaurant off the plaza in Healdsburg, with paella and Spanish sharing plates. We confirm hours when we book. Prefer a picnic? We can arrange a catered picnic at a winery that allows one; the cost is quoted when you book.
A short walk away. A tasting room on the corner of the Healdsburg plaza that feels like a European wine bar, with wines from small family vineyards across California. Tastings run $40 to $60; we allow about an hour. Open daily noon to 7 p.m.
A short walk away. Single-vineyard Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from regenerative and organic vineyards. The Celestial Tasting of five wines is $25, about 90 minutes, offered daily 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Back by about 4:05 p.m.
All three wineries are open daily. Pearce sets its own appointment times, so the morning may shift once it confirms.
About $65 to $85 per person at LIOCO and VML, plus the fee Pearce confirms when the appointment is made, paid directly to each winery.
