Michael A. Rovezzi grew up in an Italian-American restaurant family, and his connection to wine goes back as far as he can remember. After university he spent about fifteen years as a sommelier, working harvests in Tuscany along the way. In 2023 he worked his first harvest at Knights Bridge Winery and moved on to work full-time in its cellar, while laying the roots of his own tiny winery.
The idea is one site and one variety per wine, made in a traditional way with as little interference as possible: native yeasts, natural fermentations, large casks and plenty of lees. Current releases are a Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from Clow Ridge, a dense, cold vineyard at 800 to 1,200 feet in the deep end of the Anderson Valley, and a Friulano from Snows Crossing, a certified organic mountain vineyard at about 3,000 feet in Camino in the Sierra Nevada.
M.A. Rovezzi sells its wines by inquiry through its website and announces releases to its mailing list. It has no tasting room and publishes no visiting program. For a day around small, hands-on producers in Healdsburg, we take guests to wineries nearby that do host.
M.A. Rovezzi does not offer tastings.
Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.

Pickup at 10:55 a.m. from a Healdsburg hotel such as Hotel Healdsburg or h2hotel.
Hotel Healdsburg, on the town plaza, and h2hotel, a green-roofed hotel just off the Healdsburg plaza, are each about 5 minutes from Enkidu. Since M.A. Rovezzi does not host visitors, this day takes you to three wineries nearby that do. The day below fits a six-hour tour, and extra time can be added by the hour.
About 5 minutes away. Phillip Staehle's small-lot, native-yeast winery, pouring on a patio and in an indoor corner inside Brick & Mortar Custom Crush, where guests can walk among the sparkling and still wine equipment and the bottling line. The Classic Tasting of five wines is $35 and the 90+ Point Wine Tasting $55. By appointment, Wednesday to Saturday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
About 15 minutes away. The Saini family has farmed in Dry Creek Valley since 1917, and the fourth generation launched its own label in 2008. Wines by the flight, glass or bottle at picnic tables under umbrellas, with cornhole and views of the vines; the tasting fee is confirmed when we book. Open Thursday to Sunday, noon to 4 p.m., reservations through CellarPass.
About 15 minutes away. Chef Dino Bugica's restaurant in a historic building on Geyserville Avenue, with Neapolitan-style pizza from a wood-burning oven, handmade pasta and house-cured salumi; the menu changes every day. Lunch is served daily from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Prefer a picnic? We can arrange a catered picnic at a winery that allows one; the cost is quoted when you book.
About 15 minutes away. George and Linda Unti planted here in 1990 and started the winery in 1997; the family farms about 60 organic acres of Mediterranean varieties, Zinfandel, Sangiovese, Barbera and Montepulciano among them, with Fiano and Vermentino for whites. A tasting of six wines of your choice is $25, waived with a bottle purchase. By reservation, daily 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with tastings starting on the hour.
Back in Healdsburg by 4:15 p.m., within six hours of pickup.
Three wineries is the right pace for a day of serious tasting. Enkidu receives guests Wednesday to Saturday and Saini Thursday to Sunday, so this day works Thursday to Saturday. It ends around 4:15.
About $60 to $80 per person in tasting fees at Enkidu and Unti, paid directly to each winery; Saini's tasting fee is to be verified upon reservation.
