Fritz Winery is a family operation founded by Arthur "Jay" Fritz, long known as Fritz Underground Winery. The Fritz family began farming grapes in the early 1970s across the Dry Creek, Alexander and Russian River valleys, and Jay began processing fruit at his namesake winery in 1979, focused above all on Dry Creek Valley. He built the brand over the next twenty years into a national one.
As the 1990s closed, his son Clay took over the winemaking direction. Today Clay and his wife, Natalia, run the winery, pursuing unique vineyard sources and artisan winemaking, and Natalia shares her recipes on the winery's website. Fritz has also co-hosted wine cruises in Europe with fellow Sonoma County wineries LANDO and Ketcham.
Fritz's website lists no tasting room, address or visit program, so it does not receive visitors; the wines are sold online, with free shipping on six bottles or more, and through the Fritz wine club. The day below goes up Dry Creek Valley, where the family's winemaking began.
Fritz Winery does not offer tastings.
The day below visits Ferrari-Carano (from $40), Bella ($35) and Lambert Bridge ($75), about $150 per person in tasting fees.
Tasting fees as of October 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
