Brandon Gregory Estate grew out of a search for a wine country home. Its owners acquired 621 acres in Knights Valley at the base of Mount St. Helena, found the land suited to grapes and designed a 22-acre vineyard they named Helena Vista. They then bought Brookshire Vineyard and adjoining properties to form the 565-acre Brookshire Ranch, which also runs a grape-growing business for local wineries, a cattle operation and 500 acres of conservation land.
The owners hired winemaker Julien Fayard and made the first vintage of Brandon Gregory Estate in 2019, from Brookshire Vineyard. In 2020 they added a third estate property, Dean York Vineyard in St. Helena, planted to Cabernet Sauvignon; its first wine, a 2024 Cabernet, is due in 2026. The range includes Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Illation by Brandon Gregory Estate.
The Napa Valley Vintners list the estate as not open to the public. Wines go to the mailing list by allocation and to members of the Gold Carriage Society, whose benefits include VIP tastings and stays at the Carriage House on Brookshire Vineyard. The day below starts at the north end of Napa Valley, a few minutes from Knights Valley, and visits three more estates.
Brandon Gregory Estate has no public tastings; private tastings are a Gold Carriage Society benefit. On the day below, the Storybook Mountain experience is $50, Bennett Lane's Taste of the Napa Valley is $35, and the seated salon tasting at Larkmead is $90.
Tasting fees as of October 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.

Alongside a visit to Brandon Gregory Estate, which we arrange through its Gold Carriage Society membership, this day takes you to three sought-after estates nearby. Chateau de Vie is on Highway 128, the road to Knights Valley, about 5 minutes from the first stop, and Four Seasons Napa Valley about 15. The day runs about six hours, and extra time can be added by the hour.
About 5 minutes away. Hillside Zinfandel and 130-year-old caves at the northern tip of Napa Valley, on Highway 128 toward Knights Valley. The Vineyard, Cave and Redwood Grove experience is $50, about 90 minutes, waived with the purchase of two bottles. Monday to Saturday by appointment.
About 10 minutes away. Lunch at Solbar at Solage, with seasonal Napa Valley cooking and a patio by the pool, served Monday to Saturday from 11:45 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.; we confirm hours when we book. Prefer a picnic? We can arrange a catered picnic at a winery that allows one; the cost is quoted when you book.
About 10 minutes away. A family-owned Cabernet house at the northern end of Napa Valley. The Taste of the Napa Valley starts at $35; the Cabernet vertical is $55. We plan about an hour. Open daily by appointment.
About 10 minutes away. One of Napa Valley's oldest family estates, farmed organically on old riverbed gravels. The seated salon tasting of three red wines is $90, 45 to 60 minutes. By appointment seven days a week.
Back by about 4:00 p.m., six hours after pickup.
Storybook Mountain is closed Sundays and Solbar serves brunch instead of lunch on Sunday, so plan this day for Monday to Saturday. Larkmead's private estate tasting ($150, 75 to 90 minutes) can replace the salon tasting for a longer afternoon.
About $175 per person in tasting fees for the three wineries, paid directly to each winery.
