About the Winery

Edward Wallis bought an 85-acre property on Diamond Mountain Road in Calistoga in 1975. It came with a stone chateau built in 1906 by Jacques Pacheteau and a carriage house from the late 1800s; both were accepted into the National Register of Historic Places in 2015. Edward and his wife Marilyn planted their vineyard in 1997.

For years the family sold its Cabernet Sauvignon fruit to David Ramey and to Lokoya, then began making its own wine with the 2006 vintage. Thomas Rivers Brown is the winemaker. Wallis makes fewer than 1,000 cases a year, from the Diamond Mountain District and St. Helena, and sells most of it through its Cabernet club.

Wallis has no public tasting room, and Napa Valley Vintners lists it as not open to the public. Visits are by private request only; we contact the family on your behalf and confirm what they can offer for your date. If a visit cannot be arranged, we build the day around other Diamond Mountain and Calistoga estates.

Tasting Fees

Wallis does not publish a tasting fee. Any private visit and its cost are confirmed by the winery when the request is accepted.

Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
