The Ghost of Autumn is a boutique Napa Valley label built around single-vineyard wine and art by three founders from the valley. Its first label was a painting by artist Ty Christian, made after he spent time learning from the new and old working families of the valley, and the motto on the bottle is 'Enjoy without prejudice.' Napa Valley Life magazine featured the founders in its 2020 Food & Wine issue.
The inaugural black label is a 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon from a single 1.6-acre block in the Diamond Mountain District, ringed by evergreens; 99 cases were made. In March 2020 the founders delivered wine to local restaurants and set up a tip-for-a-bottle program for laid-off staff, which became the red label: The Ascension of Hope, a Calistoga Cabernet Franc from Storybook and Frediani old vines.
There is no tasting room. The winery invites requests for allocations, pre-sales and private tastings directly, by phone or through its contact form, and lists an address on First Street in Napa. We arrange the private tasting on your behalf, confirm the place, time and fee when it is set, and build the rest of the day around it, with two small family wineries in south Napa.
Tasting fees to be verified upon reservation.
Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
