About the Winery
Terra Valentine began in 1999, and Sam Baxter started there as cellarmaster under his father Phil, a consulting winemaker. When the founders left the business in 2014, Sam negotiated the purchase of the company. He is now proprietor and winemaker, and has built Terra Valentine around mountain wines over a career of about 25 years.
The home of Terra Valentine is Spring Summit Ranch, 112 acres at the top of Spring Mountain Road in the Spring Mountain District. The winery describes views that reach from Mount Tamalpais west to the Sonoma Coast and across the peaks of northern Napa Valley. Sam also makes Foretell Wines, and works with the Bales Creek Vineyard on Spring Mountain.
Club members may stroll and hike the ranch. Others interested in tasting Terra Valentine and Foretell are invited to contact the winery for options, so visits here are by private request. We make the request on your behalf and confirm the format and any fee before your day.

Terra Valentine does not publish a tasting fee. Any fee for a private visit is confirmed by the winery when the request is accepted.

About 15 minutes away. A historic estate up Spring Mountain, home of the Victorian Miravalle mansion, whose 1973 Chardonnay placed fourth at the 1976 Judgment of Paris. The Vista or Judgment of Paris experience is $95, a private walk and tasting of about 90 minutes. By reservation, daily from 9:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.

About 12 minutes away. Lunch at The Charter Oak in St. Helena, a sit-down restaurant cooking over an open hearth, open daily from 11:30 a.m. (brunch from 11 a.m. on weekends). Prefer a picnic? We can arrange a catered picnic at a winery that allows one; the cost is quoted when you book.

About 6 minutes away. A small estate on the 19th-century Bourn family property west of town, making estate Cabernet Sauvignon and olive oil, with each visit planned around your group. Tastings are $125 to $150, 60 to 90 minutes. By request, Sunday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
