About the Winery

Geetesh Goyal founded Sommras in 2018. He traces his love of wine to childhood summers at his grandfather's vineyard in Italy, where he learned the basics of growing grapes and making wine. The name comes from somras, a divine elixir in ancient mythology, and the estate's stated mission is a wine that lets people be fully present with the people they love.

The estate vineyard sits at 1,700 feet in the Atlas Peak AVA, in the mountains on the east side of the valley. Winemaker Kent Jarman makes small lots of red, white, rosé and sparkling wine, hand harvested and aged in oak barrels, and the estate keeps library wines too. Production is boutique by design, and the wines go mainly to a small community of members.

Sommras calls itself an exclusive, members-only estate, open seven days a week by invitation. Its hosted experiences run from Apis, 90 to 150 minutes for 2 to 6 guests, up to day-long private visits for larger groups. We ask on your behalf; whether a visit happens is up to the estate, and we confirm before your day.

Tasting Fees
