About the Winery

Kenzo Tsujimoto, founder of the video game company Capcom, came to know Napa Valley wine as Capcom grew in the United States. In 1990 Capcom bought a 3,800-acre mountain valley in Napa's southeast corner, and when those plans fell through, Kenzo bought the land himself. Vineyards went in from 1998, the first vintage was 2005, and the tasting room opened in 2010.

The estate is five times the size of Central Park and sits at 1,550 feet, yet only a small share of it is vineyard; the rest is forest, spring-fed reservoirs and streams, and guests occasionally spot deer, turkey or bobcat. David Abreu replanted the vineyard from 2002, and Heidi Barrett made the wines for 19 vintages before Marc Nanes became winemaker in 2022.

The drive up Monticello Road to the gate already feels like leaving the valley behind. The Estate Tour walks the vineyards, the tank room and 20,000 square feet of caves, then sits you down for a flight on the vineyard-side patio or a private terrace among 100-year-old olive trees. The barn-style buildings by Backen, Gillam & Kroeger carry Japanese touches, and hosts guide visits in English or Japanese.

Tasting Fees

$80 for the Current Release Wine Tasting, 45 minutes. $110 for the Estate Tour & Tasting of the vineyards, tank room and cave with a seated flight, 1 hour 15 minutes. $140 for the Tour & Tasting with a Bouchon Bakery luncheon plate, 2 hours. $235 for Kenzo Estate Wine with a Kenzo Napa kaiseki bento, 2 hours, Wednesdays and Thursdays only.

Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
