About the Winery

The Sciandri family's winemaking roots go back to La Quercia in northern Tuscany. They arrived in Napa in 1992, bought 20 acres of untouched pasture in what is now the Coombsville AVA and planted Cabernet Sauvignon. For years they sold their grapes to other winemakers, then launched Sciandri Family Vineyards in 2006 with an estate-grown Cabernet Sauvignon.

The estate has a little over four acres of vines on its 20 acres, farmed under the Napa Green Certified Land program with Fish Friendly Farming certification. Winemaker Ryan Pass makes Cabernet Sauvignon, a Coombsville Cuvée, Rosé and Sauvignon Blanc, plus Nello, a four-barrel wine named for Ron Sr.'s father.

The family home is not open to the public, so the Sciandris host guests at their production facility instead: a 90-minute cave tour at The Caves at Soda Canyon that walks through how the wines are made, followed by a tasting of current releases with a cheese and cracker board. It is a family-hosted look behind the scenes, in an underground winery.

Tasting Fees

$65 to $75 per person for the Cave Tour, 90 minutes, with current releases and a cheese and cracker board.

Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
