Roger Harrison spent 32 years at Beringer Vineyards before deciding the time was right to start his own brand. R.A. Harrison Family Cellars is the result: a small, family winery built on the values he holds dear and on his respect for some of the best vintners in the valley. Roger's three decades in the Napa wine business opened the door to fruit from vineyards he knows well.
The wines are hand-crafted in small lots from some of the best vineyards in Napa Valley. There is no estate tasting room. As Roger puts it, a small family winery pours its wines where people already gather, and his choice is Vintner's Collective in downtown Napa, close to the restaurants on Main Street and First Street.
Vintner's Collective is a tasting room for 18 small, family-owned wineries, set in a historic building it calls Napa's most famous former brothel. Guests can drop in at the bar or book a seated reserve tasting upstairs, and we ask for R.A. Harrison to be poured. It is an easy first stop before heading up the valley, or a relaxed one before dinner downtown.
At Vintner's Collective: $50 for The No. 1, five wines at the bar, about 45 minutes, no reservation needed. $100 for The No. 2, a seated reserve tasting upstairs, by appointment (cheese and charcuterie $25 extra). $250 for The No. 3, with sparkling wine, cheese, charcuterie and chocolates, by appointment.
Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
