Pimentel Family Wines grew out of Pimentel Vineyard Management, founded in 2017, through which Ramon Perez Naranjo and his son Cesar manage and consult on vineyards in Napa and Sonoma, including Bennett Vineyards in Coombsville. The family traces its farming roots to Churintzio, Michoacan, Mexico: Esteban Pimentel and Ruben Perez came to the United States in 1950 under the bracero program, and Ramon began working in the Domaine Chandon vineyards in 1985.
Cesar studied at Napa Valley College and through the UC Davis International Viticulture internship, then worked as a viticulture technician at Robert Mondavi Winery and Constellation Brands and later at Inglenook. The wines draw on that vineyard work: the PFW Viticultor Napa Valley Pinot Grigio, the PFW Viticultor Russian River Valley Chardonnay, the PFW Fatima Sonoma Coast Brut Rose made from Pinot Noir, and the PFW FLC Napa Valley Red Wine.
The winery lists only an office in Napa and sells its wines online, with no tasting room or appointments, so it does not receive visitors. The day below starts in Carneros and finishes in the Oak Knoll District and on the Silverado Trail, among the kind of vineyards the family farms.
Pimentel Family Wines does not offer tastings.
The day below visits Etude ($55), Trefethen ($60) and Silverado Vineyards ($50), about $165 per person in tasting fees.
Tasting fees as of October 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
