Oak Knoll District · Napa Valley
A family vineyard and cave winery on Dry Creek Road where the visit is a tour of the vines, the cave and the cellar, and a suggested six-hour day of tasting around it.

David and Shirley Olney began developing their Napa property in 1996. Long before, it had been a plum orchard left as grassland, and it had never grown wine grapes. They nurtured the soil and planted Cabernet Sauvignon from a little-known vine from Hermann J. Wiemer's vineyard in New York State, now known locally as the Wiemer clone.
In 2009 they grafted Chardonnay with lineage going back to the historic Wente clone, and they released their first Chardonnay in 2014. The wines are estate grown in the Oak Knoll District, and the Cabernet Sauvignon is made and aged in the family's own wine cave. Releases are small, and the family sells them directly.
A visit is a farm-style tour by appointment: the vineyard when the weather allows, then the cave and the winery, with a tasting of the released Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay and, when available, barrel samples at different stages. The family says fall is the best time to come, to taste fruit in the vineyard and see harvest and fermentation.
$30 per person for the tour and a tasting of one vintage, with a $60 minimum per group.
Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
