About the Winery

This 20-acre property in the eastern hills of St. Helena was first known as Dancing Hares under owners Robert and Paula Brooks. Vintner Tuck Beckstoffer bought it in 2016 and renamed it. In 2020 Toronto-based investors through Generation Capital took majority ownership, and it became Amulet Estate in early 2021.

The name comes from the Latin for a good luck charm. The estate sits where two appellations meet: a lower block in the St. Helena AVA planted to Sauvignon Blanc and an upper block on Howell Mountain planted to Cabernet Sauvignon. The winery, designed by architect Howard Backen, was finished in 2009, and tastings end in the estate cave.

Production is small, and the portfolio is built to show different Napa Valley terroirs, with a Chardonnay and vineyard-designate Cabernet Sauvignon. Visits are private and hosted. The tour walks the estate vineyards, the cellar and the winemaking facilities, then ends in a candlelit cave with a tasting of the current releases.

Tasting Fees

$100 for the Private Tour & Tasting, at least 90 minutes, covering the vineyards, cellar and winery and ending with current releases in the cave.

Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
