Oak Knoll District · Napa Valley
The Corley family's Oak Knoll District estate, with a Jefferson House modeled on Thomas Jefferson's Monticello, and a suggested six-hour day of tasting around it.
Book a Six-Hour Wine Tour
Jay Corley came to Napa looking for a site to grow grapes with a real sense of place and found an old prune and walnut orchard in what would become the Oak Knoll District. The family has farmed the same land since 1970, and 1980 was the first vintage of Monticello wine.
Jay named the winery for Thomas Jefferson's Virginia home, and the Jefferson House on the estate is modeled on Monticello in Charlottesville. His son Kevin joined him to expand the vineyards and winemaking, and the estate is now run by Kevin and the third generation, Hayden Corley. The wines are family-owned and estate-grown.
Monticello is open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tastings are booked through CellarPass, and walk-ins are welcome as space allows. The setting is relaxed and down to earth, a good fit for first-time visitors and longtime Napa regulars alike. For groups or special requests the winery asks guests to email ahead.
Monticello does not publish its tasting fees online. We confirm the current tasting and price when we book.
Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
