Emily Mills Marineau and Sebastien Marineau-Mes came to Napa looking for a home and found a mission, in their words, to make wines that honor the rocky hillsides around them. Their first vintages, from a small Silverado Trail vineyard in 2019, now form the Legacy Collection. The winery is family-owned and women-led, and its label shows each family member in a tableau of sky, mountains and the mill.
The estate sits on the Silverado Trail just outside Calistoga, in the Calistoga AVA, in gravelly volcanic soils washed down from Howell Mountain, with Aiken loam and weathered rhyolite; the family began expanding the vineyard in 2025. Ashley Hepworth, head winemaker at Joseph Phelps for 15 years, makes the Estate Cabernet, the Iron Ring Bordeaux blend and a Rutherford Chardonnay. Erin Di Costanzo, co-founder of Di Costanzo Wines, runs operations.
Marineau Mills sells through its online shop and mailing list. It publishes no tasting room or visiting program, so it does not receive visitors. The day below stays close to its corner of Calistoga: a solar-powered Dunaweal Lane estate, a Chenin Blanc and Cabernet Franc house in the Diamond Mountain District, lunch in St. Helena and a winery on the grounds of Four Seasons.
Marineau Mills does not offer tastings.
Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.

Since Marineau Mills does not host visitors, this day takes you to three sought-after estates nearby that do. Four Seasons Napa Valley, a resort among the vines on the Silverado Trail, is about 5 minutes from the first stop, and Indian Springs, a historic hot springs resort in Calistoga, about 8 minutes. The day runs about six hours, and extra time can be added by the hour.
About 5 minutes away. A Napa name from 1975, back at a solar-powered production estate on Dunaweal Lane with its own vines and a 14,000-square-foot barrel room, known for Cabernet as well as Rhône wines and Petite Sirah. The seated Heritage Tasting of four signature wines is $50, about 90 minutes. Open daily 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; reservations recommended.
About 10 minutes away. Winemaker Taylor Berkley Boydstun makes Loire-inspired Cabernet Franc and old-vine Chenin Blanc, poured at the Teachworth estate in the Diamond Mountain District south of town. The guided T. Berkley Tasting of white, rosé and red wines is $50, about 90 minutes. By appointment, for 1 to 6 guests.
About 12 minutes away. Lunch at The Charter Oak in St. Helena, a sit-down restaurant cooking over an open hearth, open daily from 11:30 a.m. (brunch from 11 a.m. on weekends). Prefer a picnic? We can arrange a catered picnic at a winery that allows one; the cost is quoted when you book.
About 20 minutes away. The winery on the grounds of Four Seasons Napa Valley, where Thomas Rivers Brown makes small-lot Calistoga Cabernet and the vineyard runs between the resort's villas. The Calistoga Exploration, four wines chosen around what you like, is $55 and about 45 minutes. Reservations encouraged; closed Wednesdays, final session at 3:30 p.m.
Back by about 4:00 p.m., six hours after pickup; if you are staying at Four Seasons, you are already home.
About $155 per person in tasting fees for the three wineries, paid directly to each winery.
Elusa is closed on Wednesdays and seats its final session at 3:30 p.m., so plan this day for another day of the week. Three wineries is the right pace for a day of serious tasting.
