Innovatus is the label of Cecil Park, who grew up in Seoul, studied biotechnology engineering at Yonsei University and worked at Kraft before moving to California to study viticulture and enology at UC Davis. The winery describes her as Napa Valley's first Korean winemaker and viticulturist, and she oversees the wines from the vineyard through the cellar herself.
The name means to innovate in Latin, and the lineup is broader than most small Napa labels: Cabernet Sauvignon from several Napa sites, a Cabernet Franc, a blend of Pinot Noir, Syrah and Cabernet Franc, whites and a Brut sparkling wine. Production is small, and in 2021 Cecil bought a five-acre property on Howell Mountain planted to Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Cabernet Franc.
Tastings are by request and hosted at The Caves at Soda Canyon, a shared underground winery up Soda Canyon Road with views back over the valley. The winery invites you to taste with Cecil, hear the story behind the label and enjoy the view. Ask two to four weeks ahead; the tasting manager follows up to set the details, and we handle that for you.
Tasting fees to be verified upon reservation.
Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
