About the Winery

Ron and Sue-Marie Haber were collectors of Howell Mountain wines before they became vintners. In 2005 they bought a 5.5-acre site on Howell Mountain and planted Cabernet Sauvignon from 2005 to 2007, on a west-facing slope at 1,550 to 1,650 feet with views to Spring and Diamond mountains.

While the vineyard grew, they sourced fruit from Diamond Mountain. Their first Diamond Mountain District Cabernet was the 2006 vintage, the first Howell Mountain Cabernet was released in 2009, and a barrel-aged Chardonnay followed in 2010. Winemaker Tim Milos makes the wines, and the screen-printed glass bottles nod to the family's architectural glass business.

Haber has no tasting room on the mountain. Private tastings are offered at The Brasswood Estate on Highway 29 between St. Helena and Calistoga, and are booked by contacting the family directly. The wines sell mostly through the Friends of the Vineyard mailing list, so a tasting is a rare chance to try them.

Tasting Fees

Haber does not publish a tasting fee. It is confirmed when the private tasting is booked.

Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
