Fiadh Ruadh is the Cabernet Sauvignon of Nova Cadamatre, founded in Napa in 2018. Cadamatre studied viticulture at Cornell and in 2017 became the first female winemaker in the United States to earn the Master of Wine diploma; Wine Enthusiast named her to its 40 Under 40 list in 2014. She owns several women-owned wine brands and spent nine harvests working with Oakville fruit.
The debut 2018 Cabernet came from red volcanic soils just off the Silverado Trail in the Stags Leap District and aged 22 months in new French oak. The current release is the 2022, launched in fall 2024. The name means red deer in Scottish Gaelic, a symbol, the winery says, of the freedom to interpret classic regions in a new way while honoring family history.
The wine is sold by allocation: you request a place through the form on fiadhruadh.com, and trade buyers write to Nova directly. There is no tasting room or visiting program. The day below takes you to three sought-after estates in the Stags Leap District and the Yountville hills that do host.
Fiadh Ruadh does not offer tastings.

Pickup at 9:45 a.m. from a nearby hotel such as Bardessono or North Block Hotel.
Since Fiadh Ruadh does not host visitors, this day takes you to three sought-after estates nearby that do, in the hills above Yountville and the Stags Leap District where its first vintage grew. Bardessono and North Block Hotel are both in Yountville, about 8 minutes from Blankiet. The day runs a little over six hours, and extra time can be added by the hour.
About 8 minutes away. A hillside estate above Yountville with a castle-style tasting room, deep caves and Bordeaux-style reds. The Classic Experience, a formal tasting of five or more wines, is $175; we allow about 90 minutes. By appointment, Tuesday to Saturday.
About 15 minutes away. A family estate built against the Stags Leap Palisades, where a member of the Robinson family leads every tour and seated tasting. $65 per person, about an hour and 15 minutes. By appointment, Tuesday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.
About 12 minutes away. Lunch at Lucy, the restaurant at Bardessono on Yount Street in Yountville, with a seasonal menu drawn from the hotel's organic garden. Lunch is served daily until 2 p.m. Prefer a picnic? We can arrange a catered picnic at a winery that allows one; the cost is quoted when you book.
About 8 minutes away. A small Napa Valley label made with winemaker Russell Bevan, poured at HQ Winery on Hoffman Lane just outside Yountville. Tastings are $75 to $200 depending on the experience; we plan about 75 minutes. By appointment.
Back by about 4:05 p.m., a little over six hours after pickup.
About $315 to $440 per person in tasting fees for the three wineries, paid directly to each winery.
Blankiet and Robinson Family Vineyards both host Tuesday to Saturday, so this day works Tuesday to Saturday. Lucy serves lunch until 2 p.m. Back by about 4:05 p.m.
