About the Winery

Farang belongs to Jim and Kittinee, who decided on a trip through Burgundy to find a farm-to-table life of their own. Back home in Florida, Jim got a call: with help from friends Brett and Susan Snyder, Kittinee had found a vineyard in Napa, and the deal was already done. Farang means foreigner in many languages, a nod to Kittinee's Thai roots and their winemaker's Mexican ones.

The vineyard sits in the Coombsville AVA, in the caldera at the southeast corner of Napa Valley, where morning fog and bay breezes keep it cooler than most of the valley. It was planted in 2003 to Cabernet Sauvignon clone 6 by the Valdez brothers, who still farm it, and was certified organic by CCOF in 2023. The wines are made with minimal intervention.

The visit is the Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc Experience, a relaxed, small-group tasting hosted in the vineyard. You walk the rows, talk about farming and terroir, and taste in the shade of an oak tree, and the hosts tell you as much or as little as you want. It is a casual, personal stop in a quiet residential corner of Napa. We arrange it for you.

Tasting Fees
