Evidence is the small label of winemaker Jason Court. In 2002, during a strike in the film industry where he worked, he spent a morning at a winery and, as he tells it, it changed his life at 39. He went on to train under Chris Carpenter at Lokoya for seven years and helped make wines for Cardinale and La Jota.
Evidence makes Cabernet Sauvignon from two corners of southern Napa Valley: the steep slopes of Mount Veeder and the cooler Coombsville caldera, plus a white wine. Vineyard work is led by Mariano Navarro Jr. of Dos Viñas Vineyard Management. The labels carry playful subtitles, like the Mt. Veeder 'of the matter' and the Coombsville 'of divine intervention'.
The winery recently opened a Tasting Parlor on First Street in downtown Napa, where Jason hosts proper sit-down tastings himself, by reservation only. It is a small operation, which is the point: you taste with the person who made the wine and can ask him anything. We send the reservation request for you.
$30 per person for the in-person tasting in the Parlor with winemaker Jason Court, waived with purchase.
Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
