About the Winery

Zeitgeist is the shared project of husband-and-wife winemakers Jennifer Williams and Mark Porembski, who do all of the work themselves in very small batches. Jen was the winemaker at Spottswoode from 2006 through 2010 and now also works with Arrow&Branch and Ziata. Mark makes the wines for Anomaly Vineyards and Unwritten and founded Band of Vintners.

The name is the German Romantic term for the spirit of the times, and each bottling aims to catch the spirit of its vintage. The lineup is two heritage whites, including Trousseau Gris from what is believed to be the world's largest planting, and a small stable of Cabernets: The Grove from Lewelling Vineyard in St. Helena, Coombsville's Farella Vineyard and Sleeping Lady near Yountville.

Tastings are private and take place at the new Arrow&Branch Winery on Solano Avenue, in the Oak Knoll District AVA, where Jen also makes wine. The tasting opens with a heritage white, then moves through Bordeaux-inspired wines: Napa Valley Cabernet and vineyard-designated reserve Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Book on Tock, or by email or phone.
