In the 1970s, Don Chalo left Michoacán, Mexico, for the United States and found work in the vineyards of Napa Valley. His children grew up alongside the vines, and in 2018 three of his sons, Sergio, Chalo and Ernesto, founded Don Chalo Cellars to carry that work forward. The winery describes the brothers as award-winning winemakers with more than 75 years of combined experience.
The wines are limited releases made in small batches, with a hands-on approach in the cellar. The current list includes a 2023 Sauvignon Blanc, a 2019 Red Blend, a 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon and a 2022 Sangiovese. The winery's greeting sums up the spirit: bienvenidos a nuestra familia, welcome to our family.
The winery works out of a production suite on Enterprise Way in south Napa rather than a public tasting room. Wine club members get complimentary tastings for themselves and their guests, along with member events. The Tastings page does not publish public hours or fees, so we call ahead to set up the visit and confirm what is offered.
Complimentary for wine club members and their guests. Public tasting fees to be verified upon reservation.
Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
