About the Winery

Domaine Alice Hartmann is a historic wine estate on the Luxembourg side of the Moselle River, in the village of Wormeldange, with more than 200 years of history. Alice Hartmann and her husband bought the property in 1920; she was widowed soon after and kept the estate running through the hardships of World War II, at a time when few women led wineries.

Around 2019 the current owners launched a Napa Valley project to combine European winemaking with California terroir. Project One blends fruit from across the valley; Project Two comes from a vineyard at 2,000 feet on Howell Mountain, above the fog; Project Three is from Oakville and Project Four from Mount Veeder. The Napa address is on Summit Lake Drive near the top of Howell Mountain.

The Napa wines are sold through the estate's wine club, with curated shipments, library vintages and invitations to members-only tastings. There is no Napa tasting room or public visit program, so it does not receive visitors. The day below starts at the Summit Lake estate on Howell Mountain, which does host, then comes down to St. Helena.

Tasting Fees

Domaine Alice Hartmann does not offer tastings.
