DOGFARM belongs to Bridget and Gan Dunnington and their close friends Katie and Russell Yates. The Dunningtons moved to Napa Valley looking for an alternative to city life, bought this St. Helena property and planted vines in 2017. The name comes from the English Labrador Retrievers bred on the property and given away, never sold, to homes around the region, and a black Lab is on the label.
The estate covers six acres at about 800 feet, between the St. Helena and Howell Mountain appellations, in the St. Helena AVA. Two acres are planted to Cabernet Sauvignon clones 4 and 30, in three small blocks on white tufa and sedimentary rock. The winemaker is Maayan Koschitzky, director of winemaking at Atelier Melka and owner of La Pelle Wines.
The owners describe DOGFARM as a project built on the idea that wine should be fun and a way to connect, and they invite guests to taste the portfolio. Tastings are requested through a form on the website with your party size; there is no public tasting room, posted hours or fee. We send the request and plan the day around the time the owners offer.
Tasting fees to be verified upon reservation. DOGFARM does not publish a tasting fee.
Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.

Good to Know
A visit depends on the owners' availability, so ask well ahead. Ages, group size and pet rules are not published; we confirm them when the request is accepted. Wine is sold through the winery's members' site.
Pickup at 10:00 a.m. from a nearby hotel such as Meadowood or Alila Napa Valley. DOGFARM sets visit times on request, so the start time may move once the owners confirm.
Both are in St. Helena, a few minutes from the estate: Meadowood, the resort in its own wooded valley off the Silverado Trail, and Alila Napa Valley on the hillside at the north end of town. The day below runs about seven hours, and extra time can be added by the hour.
A visit arranged by request with the owners. No length or fee is published, so we allow about an hour and confirm the details when the visit is accepted.
About 20 minutes away, up Howell Mountain. The PlumpJack Collection's estate in Angwin, where the 13th Vineyard Tasting Experience begins with a tour of the 1886 stone winery. $75, by prepaid reservation; we allow about 75 minutes. Open Wednesday to Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
About 20 minutes away. Lunch at Market, an American restaurant in a historic brick and stone building on Main Street in St. Helena, open for lunch Monday to Saturday from noon. Prefer a picnic? We can arrange a catered picnic at a winery that allows one; the cost is quoted when you book.
About 25 minutes away, up Spring Mountain. A family estate at the crest of Spring Mountain that straddles the Napa and Sonoma county line, with a walk through the caves on every visit. The Reserve Experience adds a seated tasting of limited wines; $75, about 90 minutes. By appointment, Wednesday to Monday, with visits starting between 10 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
Back in St. Helena by about 5:00 p.m.
About $150 per person in tasting fees for 13th Vineyard and Pride Mountain, plus DOGFARM's fee, which is confirmed with the visit; each paid directly to the winery.
13th Vineyard is open Wednesday to Sunday, Pride Mountain is closed Tuesdays and Market serves lunch Monday to Saturday, so this day works Wednesday to Saturday. DOGFARM sets its time on request, and the day runs about seven hours.
