George and Maria McCuen lived about half a mile from this vineyard for years. Walking up Linda Vista Avenue, Maria said she would love to live in the little farmhouse someday; when it came on the market they went into contract in December 2017 and moved in in February 2018. George was born and raised in Napa, and the label is named for their bulldogs, led by Thelonious, known as Theo.
The estate vineyard in the Oak Knoll District is just under three acres of Cabernet Sauvignon, planted in 2001 by the original owner. Robert Jordan of Grand Crew Vineyard Management farms it with winemaker Brian Graham, who studied at the University of Bordeaux and has made wine in Napa since 1998. Grapes bought from family farms make the THEO Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir and the Brindle blend.
Tastings are by appointment and currently limited to wine club members and their guests. You sit outside facing the estate vineyard while the family pours, and they keep numbers small so the visit stays personal. Members taste free with up to four guests. If you want to taste here, we can help you join and then make the appointment.
Complimentary for Bulldog Club members and up to four guests; $50 per additional guest. Bulldog does not offer public tastings.
Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
