About the Winery

Bread & Butter built its name on everyday Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon sold in stores and restaurants, with a simple idea from its winemaker, Linda Trotta: a good wine is a wine you like. Linda, whom the winery calls an award-winning veteran winemaker, makes the wines with winemaker Matt Shuplock.

In the summer of 2021 the brand opened its own tasting room on the Silverado Trail in the Oak Knoll District. Beyond the familiar bottles, it pours a limited-release Napa Valley collection that is sold only through the tasting room, the wine club and the online shop, including Cabernet Sauvignons from several of the valley's micro-regions.

The visit matches the brand: relaxed, with no rituals and, as the winery says, no test. You sit back with a flight and take in the Napa Valley vineyards while the team keeps things light. The Cabernet tasting of five limited-production wines is the one for serious Cabernet drinkers. It is an adults-only stop, and outside food and pets are not allowed.

Tasting Fees

$45 for the Simply Enjoyable Tasting, a flight of five wines. $75 for the Cabernet Sauvignon Tasting, five limited-production Napa Valley Cabernets. Durations are not published; we allow about an hour.

Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
