About the Winery

Big Cat Wines is a small label based in the city of Napa, and its current list covers a lot of ground for a winery its size. There is a 2023 Rutherford Sauvignon Blanc, a 2022 California sparkling wine and a 2023 Pinot Noir from the Petaluma Gap in Sonoma, alongside three Napa Valley Cabernets. Tasting requests and orders go to Jose at the winery.

The Cabernets are the reason to come. They let you taste three corners of Napa Valley side by side: the 2021 from Rutherford, on the gravelly western bench, the 2022 from Oakville on the valley floor, and the 2022 from Howell Mountain, high above the fog on the eastern side. Few small labels pour all three in one sitting.

There is no public tasting room. Tastings are private and booked ahead through the winery's online appointment page; the place, time and fee are confirmed with the booking, and we handle that for you. We set the pickup around the time Big Cat confirms, then build the rest of the day at estates a real drive away.

Tasting Fees

Tasting fees to be verified upon reservation. Big Cat Wines does not publish its tasting prices.

Tasting fees as of September 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.

3:55 · Back to your hotel

Back by about 4:10 p.m., about six hours after pickup.

About $210 per person in tasting fees for The Vice and Mi Sueño, paid directly to each winery; Big Cat's fee is confirmed when we book.

The Vice hosts Tuesday to Saturday and Mi Sueño Monday to Saturday, so plan this day for Tuesday to Saturday. Three wineries is the right pace for a day of serious tasting.
