About the Winery

Beaucanon Estate belongs to the de Coninck family of St. Emilion, whose Bordeaux holdings have included Chateaux Canon, Bellevue and Junayme. Jacques de Coninck came to Napa Valley from Bordeaux in 1978 to look for vineyard land, and the family built its first winery just outside St. Helena in 1987. Today his son Louis de Coninck, trained in Saint Emilion from the age of 18, makes the wines.

The home of the winery is the Longwood Ranch, 94 organically farmed acres a stone's throw from the southeastern end of the Oak Knoll District. It is planted mostly to the Bordeaux grapes, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Malbec, with Sauvignon Blanc and a little Chardonnay. The wines are made in a historic barn on the ranch, fitted out as a working winery that produces about 12,000 cases a year.

Visits are by appointment only, requested through the winery's website with a specific date and time in mind. It is a small, family-run place rather than a polished visitor center, which is part of the appeal for guests who like to taste where the wine is made. We make the request for you and confirm the details when we book.

Tasting Fees

Beaucanon Estate does not publish a tasting fee. We confirm the current price when we book.

Tasting fees as of October 2026. Wineries set and collect their own fees, and they change from time to time.
